Event Overview and Brief
DRPG’s 45th Anniversary Celebration in June 2025 was a company milestone event designed to bring together over 1,000 clients, partners, employees, families and alumni. It served as the flagship activation of a wider business growth strategy, showcasing the agency’s creativity, culture and future ambitions.
For the Print Team, the challenge was unique. Unlike a traditional client project, we had to treat ourselves as the client while continuing to deliver an extensive programme of external work. Production for the anniversary event began during one of the busiest periods in DRPG’s live events calendar, with 31 live events delivered in May and a further 23 events in June, including major multi-location roadshows for brands such as Ferrari and BT/EE.
Adding further complexity, the team simultaneously commissioned and integrated a new HP Latex FS50 3.2m printer into production during May, ensuring increased capacity without disrupting existing client commitments.
The anniversary celebrations themselves consisted of two distinct but connected experiences: a daytime festival at West Midlands Safari Park and an evening gala at DRPG’s global headquarters, Studio 212. Together, these created 33 branded environments across two venues, each requiring bespoke print solutions, immersive graphics and smooth installation.
The brief for the Print Team was to create an event environment that celebrated 45 years of DRPG, demonstrated the very best of our production capabilities, and delivered a world-class experience without compromising ongoing client delivery.
Solution
The Print Team became a central delivery partner in transforming two venues into a fully immersive brand experience.
Across the project, the team produced:
173 individual print items
7,340 total printed pieces
More than 1,000m² of printed graphics and display materials
33 distinct branded zones spanning both venues
The scale of production ranged from premium invitations and guest communications through to large-format experiential environments, wayfinding, scenic graphics, exhibition installations and bespoke awards.
The daytime festival required the creation of immersive storytelling spaces including the Archive Gallery, Family Tree experience, Community at Our Heart zone and the Then, Now, Future Time Machine. Many of these environments relied heavily on printed graphics integrated with scenic build, technology and interactive content.
The evening gala demanded a complete transformation of Studio 212 into a luxury event venue. Print elements supported every stage of the guest journey, from arrival experiences and branded walkways to feature installations, entertainment spaces and award presentations.
One of the most technically demanding environments was the Illusion House, where walls, floors and ceilings were wrapped with printed graphics to create a fully immersive visual experience. The team also produced 16 large-format hanging banner drops totalling more than 100m², alongside individual graphics reaching 34.6m² and multiple wall canvases ranging between 14m² and 22m².
Success depended on close collaboration between print, scenic, creative, technical production and live event teams. By integrating print production into the wider event design process from the outset, the team ensured every element contributed to a cohesive attendee experience.
Creativity & Innovation
The anniversary event provided an opportunity for the Print Team to demonstrate the breadth of modern print production and its role in creating immersive event environments.
Rather than relying on a limited range of materials, the team utilised a diverse mix of substrates and specialist finishes to deliver different creative objectives across the event.
Materials included; Canvas; Reboard; Foamex; Cygnus board; 410-micron display board; Frosted vinyl; Static-cling vinyl; One-way vision graphics; Neon vinyl; Die-cut profile vinyl; Clear acrylic; Direct-to-acrylic print; Direct-to-stained-wood print.
Premium finishing techniques elevated key touchpoints, including soft-touch laminate and silver foiling for invitation packs, helping establish a premium experience before guests even arrived.
The newly installed HP Latex FS50 3.2m printer became operational during production, enabling the team to manufacture approximately 800 linear metres of canvas within a single month while maintaining quality and meeting tight installation deadlines.
The project also showcased how print can support immersive storytelling. Graphics were integrated into the wider narrative journey, helping attendees move through DRPG’s past, present and future. Whether creating museum-style archive experiences, immersive environmental branding or interactive engagement zones, print became an active contributor to the event story.
Results
The result was one of the largest and most ambitious internal events ever delivered by DRPG and a powerful demonstration of what modern print production can achieve.
Crucially, all production was completed while supporting an exceptionally busy client delivery schedule, including 54 live events delivered across May and June.
The event welcomed more than 1,000 attendees and generated over 300 pieces of user-generated social content, extending the reach of the celebration far beyond those present on the day.
Commercially, the event delivered immediate business impact. Nine proposals were issued in the week following the event, with two projects going live within days. Client feedback highlighted the quality, creativity and attention to detail throughout the experience, with many attendees commenting on the immersive environments and seamless execution.
For the Print Team, the project demonstrated production excellence and technical capability as well as showcasing the ability to deliver at scale under pressure. By successfully balancing a landmark internal event alongside a significant client workload, the team showcased the creativity and collaboration that continue to define DRPG’s approach to print production.
